Tally — PAIA Manual
Manual published in terms of section 51 of the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 ("PAIA"), read with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013 ("POPIA").

1. Who we are

Information Officer: the Information Officer of the company, contactable at info@tallyitall.com. Please put "Information Officer" in the subject line.
We are a small private body. All requests, of every kind described below, come to that one address and are handled by the Information Officer.
2. How to ask us for information
You do not need a lawyer and you do not need a form to start. Email info@tallyitall.com and tell us what you are looking for. We will tell you what we hold, whether we can give it to you, and what it costs if anything.
If a formal request is required, PAIA prescribes a request form and a fee structure. We will send you the current form and tell you the current fee rather than asking you to find them yourself — the amounts are set by regulation and change from time to time.
We will respond within 30 days, as PAIA requires, and will tell you if we need an extension and why. If we refuse, we will say which section we are relying on and how to challenge it.
3. Asking for your own personal information
If you simply want to know what Tally holds about you, this is usually much simpler than a PAIA request, and you have rights under POPIA that do not depend on this manual:
- See most of it yourself, immediately. Your profile is in the app under
- Correct it yourself, in the same place.
- Delete your account from Profile → Delete my account. What that does, and
- Ask us anything else at info@tallyitall.com.
Edit profile, and Profile → Download my data exports a copy.
what it deliberately does not do, is set out in our Privacy Policy.
4. The records we hold

Most of this is other people's personal information, and access to it is restricted accordingly. A request for records about somebody else will normally be refused under the grounds in Chapter 4 of PAIA, in particular the mandatory protection of a third party's privacy.

6. Records held under other laws
Records we are required to keep under legislation including the Companies Act 71 of 2008, the Income Tax Act 58 of 1962, the Value Added Tax Act 89 of 1991 and the Basic Conditions of Employment Act 75 of 1997, where applicable to us.
